Skinny Puppy - Track 10 Album

Fascinating!Thankfully, this is not the only way to get "Track 10". More widely known as Left Hand Shake. This song was released on the Off Beat German variant of Brap (Back and Forth Vol. 3 & 4): https://www.discogs.com/Skinny-Puppy-Brap-Back-Forth-Vol-3-4/release/104376 on disc 2, track 12.That is omitted in the North American Nettwerk release.So, not the first time this track was available on CD to consumers, but hilarious as a stand alone, quite rare too, good novelty value for collectors I suppose, but not necessary compositional completionists. (Brap, even the Off Beat release was produced a bit more widely I think, and the market place pricings appears to reflect this). Between this, and the mastering error on Rabies leading to a re-release, Skinny Puppy has some weird releases around this era not seen much earlier or later in their catalog (though the trend of having limited variants for sale at concerts before wider label releases was also seen with at least one Download release and maybe others).There was also a bootleg CD called Intolerance that had this, as well as a live version. Given the nature of it not being label produced, the information available on discogs is a bit odd since there are variants but none are official. Here is an example:https://www.discogs.com/Skinny-Puppy-Intolerance/release/623123The copy I had did not have any claims of being limited edition, it was just a run of the mill bootleg in a CD shop.The Timothy Leary samples which ruined this I think alas, gets strangely played as he got too much credit as a psychedelic luminary tbh, he was an FBI narq seen through the lens of history, an early combatant in the war on drugs before the DEA was quite as well established, the track not being on the album probably made it more of a mystery, it certainly doesn't have anything suggesting it as a hit nor even too useful for club or dance floor play. A strange artifice of the copyright litigious times in which it was published, in that way perhaps we can see a macrocosm of the FBI being the goons of the RIAA and MPAA and there is potentially a spiritual read or takeaway for the song's samples and how damaging even associating with narqs can be when it comes to creative acts and art?Who knows. I never even knew this existed as a stand alone release until discogs, thanks webbernets, fascinating. :)

My friend bought 2 copies at the Dresden show, and accidently broke one shortly after. So there's really only 999 copies possibly available.

I remember it was such a mystery about the "Track 10 is missing" thing on the cover. Also was the fact that on the original CD release all the tracks were "off". Track 1 would continue several seconds into song number two, Track two continued into song number 3, etc... I always thought they did it on purpose just to screw with you since it fit with their cryptic nature - (As always to the green guy, no thanks to the rip offs, a video for warlock does exist, etc... Although on the "rip offs", their sound engineer told a friend at the OKC show of their vivsect tour they'd had a lot of equipment stolen while touring. It was nice when the internet came along and explained a lot of this. Much less "romantic" but the off tracks where just a glitch in the recording process. And it was nice to FINALLY get to see the warlock video, and find out why it was never released .

Was supposed to be track #10 on Last Rights. Cevin could not get the "go ahead" for samples used from their respective owners, hence "track 10 missing?" being written on the bottom of the inside of the cover sleeve, and songs being lised 1-9, 10 being skipped and on to 11 on the back of the cover to Last Rights.

When I was younger, I remember wondering what the hell "track 10 missing?" meant...always thought it was some cryptic message for a hidden track on the cd or something. :-D
