Release Date: 2002 Tracklist. Review Summary: Wow. The album tells a loosely narrated story of a man who, living out his life in emotional seclusion, one day finds a woman who completes him his counterpart. However, soon after finding that his own purpose lies within this woman, he also finds that she has been engaged in an incestuous relationship with her own brother. This horrifying realization devastates him to the point where he no longer finds purpose in his own life, and he commits suicide by drowning himself. Isaac Ortega A lot of Isis fans mention Oceanic as its second favoritebest album from the band. This is very unfair. Both Panopticon and Oceanic represent maximum points in Isis creative process, and i am sure there is no Panopticon without Oceanic. Try to play it chronogically one after the other. For me it makes perfect sense. The Isis creation function is bimodal. Favorite track: Maritime. Pasquale Striano. Band Name Isis. Album Name Oceanic. Type Album. Released date 2002. Labels Ipecac Recordings. Despite the relative simplicity of the style it never gets boring. The music truly has an Oceanic feel to it, what with the constant shifting of the guitars and the multiple transitions. The production feels very warm and clear, the guitars have a nice crisp and clear tone to them whilst retaining a rather dense wall of sound ala Neurosis. The overall feel of the music is very organic and natural. Genre: Post-Metal. Or consider a donation More Albums. View All. Wavering Radiant. In the Absence of Truth
