Composer of classicist era December 30, 1756, Nová Říše - September 29, 1808, Vienna. Older brother of composer Antonín Vranický. Like so many other artists of that period, he moved to Vienna to seek out opportunities within the Austrian imperial capital. He played a prominent role in the musical life of Vienna from 1790, he served as conductor of both royal theater orchestras. He was on friendly terms with and highly respected by Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven the latter two preferred him as the conductor. Listen free to Howard Griffiths A.
