The De Capo Players embrace the strings of the Pumpkins' 1979 and Disarm, turning in instrumental, chamber quartet versions of the songs. Solomon Burke Jr. reimagines Today as vintage Motown, while Jimmy & the Tercels take Rhinoceros on a detour into the country bar. Some of these work better than others, but taken as a whole, they make Midnight in the Patch a novel pop oddity that's worth a few laughs. Album 2001 12 Songs. Listening to Midnight in the Patch, I found that I was incredibly disappointed in the quality of the covers created by GothIndustrial artists. First of all, many Goth artists take offense at the naming of the album as a GothIndustrial Tribute. These bands, they say, do not typify all goth artists. Secondly, I find very few of these songs to be enjoyable, much less acceptable covers of one of the greatest alternative bands ever. Hi, I really don't understand why these reviewers don't understand tribute albums. This album's songs are in no way trying to imitate the Pumpkins. They could never do that.
