This is the original US release in a dark brown, rectangular hinged box with the words "The Byrds" embossed on the front cover; catalog number 46773 appears on just one edge of the outer box, and catalog number C4K 46773 appears on one other edge; no other printing appears on any of the other sides. The enclosed 54-page booklet had a problem in that the ink on the cover never cured, and simply removing the booklet from the box the first time smeared the ink, leaving permanent fingerprints on the front and back cover. CBS Records, once aware of this, provided contact information where a new replacement booklet could be requested. The original booklet was printed on much heavier stock than the replacement booklet.

Short intro
Byrds is the twelfth and final studio album by the American rock band the Byrds and was released in March 1973 on Asylum Records see 1973 in music. It was recorded as the centerpiece of a reunion among the five original band members: Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke. The last time that all five members had worked together as the Byrds was in 1966, prior to Clark's departure from the band. During the reunion, the current, latter-day lineup of the band. The Byrds: Were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1964. The band underwent multiple lineup changes throughout its existence, with frontman Roger McGuinn remaining the sole consistent member. Although they only managed to attain the huge commercial success of contemporaries like the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and the Rolling Stones for a short period in the mid-1960s, the Byrds are today considered by critics to be nearly as influential as those bands. Their signature blend of clear harmony singing and McGuinn's jangly twelve-string Rickenbacker guitar was abso. The Byrds were a popular American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1964. They are considered one of the most important and influential bands of the 1960s. Their music bridged the gaps between the socially and spiritually conscious folk music of Bob Dylan, the studio trickery of The Beach Boys, and the sardonic rock of The Beatles. Some of their trademark songs include pop versions of Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man and Pete Seegers Turn Turn Turn To Everything There Is a Season, and the originals I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better, and Eight Miles High.
