Spanish Drummer Ramon Lopez is a member of the National Orchestra du Jazz in France. On this CD, he plays solo percussion, and while he is a very fine player, it is not an easy task for any soloist, least of all a drummer, to sustain interest for the entire length of a recording. For eleven tracks, Lopez sports the usual clicks and clacks, cymbals and sirens, and whistles and tom toms to create layers of incendiary fire. He is particularly adept at odd meters.
