Abhirup Roy, Kolkata. Abhirup Roy is a very versatile and highly talented young Tabla virtuoso from Kolkata, India. I will be presenting my Tabla Solo as guest performance on 27th August with Pt. Vinod Kumar Mishra Ji on the Sarangi at the Festival of Indian Classical Music from 26-27-28 August at Rai Umanath Bali Auditorium. Abhirup Roy, an Indian Tabla Virtuoso of Indian Classical Music, born in a musical family in the year 1987 in Kolkata, India. Abhirup belongs to the very oldest and royal style of table playing which is known by the world as BENARAS GHARANA. Roy has been initiated by his father Sree Swarup Kumar Roy when he was of 2 and years of age. In the later stage Roy honored his skill under the tutelage of the legendary Tabla Maestro PANDIT KUMAR BOSE. Roy rose with the strict guidance of Pandit Bose and his father Shree Swarup Kumar Roy. Pedro Weiss is a person who not only a legendary musician from the very cultural city of Germany, Karlsruhe but also he lives his passion for rhythm every day and I want to pass this passion on to my students and participants in the workshops. He is living his rhythmical life as a drummer, percussionist, live and studio musician, teacher and author of specialist literature. Pedro and Abhirup came forward and formed a world percussion duo project in Germany. On the other hand, Karlsruhe is the first city from where Abhirup started his musical journey in Europe. Solo is the debut studio album by American R&B group Solo, released September 12, 1995 via Perspective Records. The album was executive produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and it peaked at 52 on the Billboard 200. Four singles were released from the album: Heaven, Where Do U Want Me to Put It, He's Not Good Enough and Blowin' My Mind.
