Short intro

Animals is the tenth studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 23 January 1977 through Harvest and Columbia Records. It was recorded at the band's Britannia Row Studios in London throughout 1976, and was produced by the band. The album continues the longform compositions that made up their previous works, including Wish You Were Here 1975. Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part 19. Pink Floyd. Raving And Drooling Sheep. Pink Floyd's 'Animals' arrived on Jan. 23, 1977 as the band's hardest-rocking, most visceral project. Pink Floyd reached a career crossroads with Animals , a hard-eyed rebuke of greed and the power structure driven by Roger Waters ' quickly awakening muse. Waters also took a more dominant role at the mic, as he dove into a savage theme straight out of George Orwell's Animal Farm. It is a very violent album, Waters conceded in an interview with Capitol Radio in 1977. They're quite violent songs, so I think that's why the music is a bit punchier. Most of the songs are over 10 minutes long, and there's nothing that even remotely resembles another Wish You Were Here, Money or anything that would work on the radio. It also doesn't paint their audience or humanity, for that matter in a positive light, saying that we're all just pigs, dogs or sheep. Few bands could have turned such an intense, anti-commercial album into a hit, but Pink Floyd were absolutely huge in 1977. This was also the height of. Arriving after the warm-spirited albeit melancholy Wish You Were Here, the shift in tone comes as a bit of a surprise, and there are even less proper songs here than on either Wish or Dark Side. Animals is all extended pieces, yet it never drifts - it slowly, ominously works its way toward its destination. For an album that so clearly is Waters', David Gilmour's guitar dominates thoroughly, with Richard Wright's keyboards rarely rising above a mood-setting background such as on the intro to Sheep. Pink Floyd Animals. Release date: 23rd January 1977. The genesis of the Animals album was in the writing rehearsals that produced Wish You Were Here. Working at Unit rehearsal studios, near Londons Kings Cross, Pink Floyd had created two songs that were ultimately left off the Wish You Were album: Raving And Drooling and Youve Got To Be Crazy. With the emergence of the central theme that was to link together the songs to be included on Wish You Were Here, Raving And Drooling and Youve Got To Be Crazy were set aside. Leaving that aside, the remaster for this vinyl pressing is fantastic. The highs and the lows are loud and clear and you get every bit of the analog warmth you're looking for. Not all recently pressed records are up to par. Genre: Progressive Rock. Re-review: I don't come back to this album as much as other Floyd records, but when I do listen to this, words cannot describe how much I love this. I'm not going to lie, this album took some getting used to. Like Dark Side Of The Moon, my original rating was exaggerated. Pink Floyds tenth studio album, Animals was released in early 1977. The bands previous release Wish You Were Here was among the best-selling albums of 1975. Also, Pink Floyd received critical acclaim for it, getting five stars in some of the most popular music magazines of the seventies. After that, Roger Waters decided to hoard all lyrical works for the next album, Animals. The entire theme of the album is highly influenced by George Orwells 1945 novella, Animal Farm. What inspired the album Although theres no official citation, the album seems to be inspired by George Orwells 1945 novella, Animal Farm. What are the thoughts of the artists after the Animal tour
