Omar Pène's new album is deliberately lean, mean and pared down and a million miles away from the classic hits that have rolled off the record presse. Omar is the debut studio album from Slovenian singer Omar Naber. It was released in 2005 on CD and MC cassette with different track listings on each format. It is not quite clear why this was done, however in many cases it is usually because of spacing on both sides of the cassette, whereas on a CD it doesn't really matter. There are however the same tracks on both formats. The tracks on the album are mainly in Slovenian, however there are four English language versions of tracks already in. Omar Pene born 1956 is a Senegalese vocalist and composer, who was the lead singer of Super Diamono, and is now a solo artist. Omar Pene was born in the working-class neighborhood of Derkle in Dakar. Having been singing his whole life and playing in other bands, he formed Super Diamono in 197576, with previous bandmates Cheikh Diagne, Bassirou Diagne, and Bazlo Diagne, along with members of Tropical Jazz De Dakar, including singer Ismael Lo.
