Noted for his raw, stripped-back approach to both creating and marketing his music, Smith is associated with the genres of Detroit techno and house. He has self-released most of his music through his label FXHE Records Detroit, and in 2009 alluded to the reason behind the decision, saying: I don't have a good relationship with a lot of distributors. So why waste money. Omar is the debut studio album from Slovenian singer Omar Naber. It was released in 2005 on CD and MC cassette with different track listings on each format. It is not quite clear why this was done, however in many cases it is usually because of spacing on both sides of the cassette, whereas on a CD it doesn't really matter. There are however the same tracks on both formats. The tracks on the album are mainly in Slovenian, however there are four English language versions of tracks already in. Alex Omar Smith is a Detroit House & Techno producer. Similar to Theo Parrish, Moodymann, et al. One of the few real underground House producers at the moment. Smith has griped about journalists bringing this photo up, it goes a long way to explain the Detroit artist's appeal, especially in Europe. Here, we get You Want The Best, which references his last album and a comedy snippet that precedes nearly every track on You Want.
