Menlove Ave. is a 1986 album by English rock musician John Lennon. It is the second posthumous release of Lennon's music after Milk and Honey, having been recorded during the sessions for his albums Walls and Bridges and Rock 'n' Roll. was released under the supervision of Yoko Ono, Lennon's widow. The first side of the LP comprises session outtakes from the Rock 'n' Roll sessions with Phil Spector in late 1973, save for Rock and Roll People which is from the Mind Games sessions. Album Artwork. John Lennon's 'Menlove Ave. a set of mid-'70s odds and ends overseen by Yoko Ono, was released in November 1986. The name itself recalled Lennon's childhood home at 251 Menlove Ave. in Liverpool, a '30s-era duplex called Mendips where the Beatles first rehearsed. Mendips always meant a great deal to John, Ono said in 2012 , and it was where his childhood dreams came true for himself and for the world. Yet the genesis of these songs was, more often than not, an alcohol-fueled nightmare that found Lennon battling his producer Phil Spector and his own demons during a particularly dark period. Angel Baby, originally put out on the unauthorized Roots album, makes a raucous first official appearance here. Since My Baby Left Me sounds like a glorified party tape, giving listeners a taste of the madness of those sessions, and a lumbering rendition of Spector's chestnut To Know Her Is to Love Her closes the side.
