Short intro

Haydn: Trios pour Pianoforte, Violon et Violoncelle, Vol. Release Date. October 11, 2005. These are essential pieces for the lover of Haydn, and the historical-instruments trio of fortepianist Patrick Cohen, violinist Erich Höbarth, and cellist Christophe Coin delivers them with just the right understated quality and just the room-sized sound that these trios demand. The balance among the three instruments is especially nice here the use of a fortepiano in classical chamber music eliminates the need for the string players to strain to produce a big sound, and Haydn's essentially subtle third relations have the right relaxed yet surprising effect.
