Jenny MaeGem. Jenny Mae is quiet, female-vocal pop band. A strange blues guitar lead fills the first song, while the follow-up contradicts with a keyboard drenched, new-wave track that lacks quirkiness or fun. Not a bad effort on both sides though. Jenny Mae Leffel 1968 -2017 Jenny Mae Leffel performed in a band called Vibralux before going solo, recording under the name Jenny Mae. She released a split single with Guided By Voices in 1993, with Robert Pollard praising her as one of the finest songwriters hed ever met. She was active first as a member of the band Vibralux, and later as a solo artist. The second of five children, Leffel was born in South Vienna, Ohio in 1968. She became interested in music in elementary school, when she began playing the trumpet, which she proved very gifted at playing by ear.
