Short intro
Wrong Way Up - Brian Eno, John Cale. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей. Wrong Way Up is a 1990 album by Brian Eno and John Cale. The album sits between the electronic, prog-rock and art rock genres and features some of both Eno and Cale's most mainstream work. The cover was conceived by Eno. The 2005 re-release on All Saints Records was remastered and had a different cover. It contained two bonus tracks, Grandfather's House and You Don't Miss Your Water by Eno. Both titles only appeared on single or EP before the latter was taken from the 1988 OST album Married to. Eno reportedly called Cale irrational. Cale said Eno would listen to what you said, but he really didnt have much patience with havent figured out yet what Brians notion of cooperation, or collaboration, is. Yet Wrong Way Up would be far more euphoric than either expected. Eno said, We both started out thinking it would be quite stark and sort of, slightly Eraserhead in feeling. In the first post-Cold War spring, with the Berlin Wall down and Nelson Mandela freed, the feelings were hopeful. John Cale. Wrong Way Up. Wrong Way Up 1990. To favorites 2 Download album. Wrong Way Up, their first out-and-out collaboration, grew out of Enos production of Cales Words for the Dying last year, and the result is a gem, if an oddly anachronistic one. Their trademarks - haunting synth patterns, carefully plucked guitar strings, self-consciously simple lyrics, chantlike choruses and echoey production - have been so plundered by their protégés over the years that they have lost some of their initial mystique. Backed by a few drumbeats and synthesizer fills, Cales calm vocal delivery gives the simple story in Cordoba a chilly pathos. On Empty Frame, Cale and Eno become warped, profound Beach Boys: Above a pulsating. Though Brian Eno and John Cale had been collaborating since the early '70s, their first official duet album didnt arrive until 1990s Wrong Way Up. This album is a summation of everything the pair had been trying to do since the start of their careers. In fact, each may have been the others only equal when it came to integrating avant-garde ideas with pure pop music. Fans of hallowed Eno albums like Here Come the Warm Jets and Another Green World will immediately recognize the delightfully peculiar pop-rock of Lay My Love, One Word, and In the Backroom.
