After more than 20 years, this album is brought back as a special for record store day, including the bonus track, Human Rocket from Listening Disc is a compilation album by the American new wave band Devo. It was originally released in 1987, on the label Rykodisc. The album is a compilation of all but one of the tracks from Devo's two E-Z Listening Muzak Cassettes, which had been available only through Club Devo in 1981 and 1984, respectively, consisting of instrumental versions of classic Devo songs performed in the style of easy listening Muzak or New-age music. The original E-Z Listening Muzak Cassette, Volume 2 contained. Muzak-styled versions of Devo hits were quietly played over the sound system, versions that were so faithful to the Muzak aesthetic that most fans missed them, with the occasional Is this 'Girl U Want'' asked amongst the crowd. The recordings were made available through the group's fan club in two volumes of the E-Z Listening Muzak Cassette, then in 1987, the Rykodisc label issued E-Z Listening Disc which combined the cassettes, minus one of the two versions of Shout. Originally created as pre-concert mood setters, popularity and sound board thievery led to EZ Listening Muzak being sold back in the early 80s as two fan club only cassettes. The copyrighted word Muzak does not appear on Rykodisk's release but does on the Club DEVO and Futurismo releases
