Short intro
Cecilia Bartoli. Rossini Recital. Your Rating. Overview . Album 1991 20 Songs. Giovanna D'Arco, Cantata a Voce Sola Con Piano. By Gioacchino Rossini. 20 Songs, 1 Hour, 11 Minutes. Released March 1, 1991. Rossini: Giovanna d'Arco 19 songs. Please retry. Cecilia Bartoli made her mark early as an interpreter of Rossini's work and this album gives ample evidence that the buzz surrounding her early career was more than just hype. While she is known as today's pre-eminent mezzo-soprano, she was a virtual unknown when she recorded this. Her technique and voice type are perfect for these songs but it is her obvious love for, and command of, the Rossini repetoire which set this CD apart from most. Play jigsaw puzzles for free Home. Cecilia Bartoli Italian pronunciation: born June 4, 1966 in Rome is an Italian mezzo-soprano opera singer and recitalist. She is best-known for her interpretation of the music of Mozart and Rossini, as well as for her performances of lesser-known Baroque and classical music. She is known for having the versatility to play both soprano and mezzo roles, and is sometimes considered a soprano with a low tessitura. Bartoli's coloratura skill has earned her the title the Queen of Agility. So I decided to choose another rendition, the only other I have in my collection, in fact: this one by Daniella Barcellona.
