Tridruga is a trio composed of the collaborative efforts of Yuri Lemeshev on accordion, Brad Shepik on guitar, and Tony Scherr on bass who intertwine stories of passion, regret, and betrayed love as portrayed in the life of a Bengal Lancer. On this CD of the same name, the trio plays a set of gypsy cantatas, carnival rhapsodies, tangos, and an assortment of foxtrots, watusis, and cha-cha's. Instruments like the clarinet and accordian are making their way back into jazz today. The trio of three friends is a translation of Tridruga and at its very hip center is accordionist Yuri Lemeshev. Tridruga translates as three friends, and Lemeshev, Shepik, and Scherr possess an empathy that aptly suggests years of musical camaraderie. The listener feels privileged to be drawn into their intimate circle. Track Listing. Yuri Lemeshev born 1954 or 1955 is an American accordion player and former member of gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello. Lemeshev was born on the island of Sakhalin, RSFSR, Soviet Union.
