Short intro

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is the fourth studio album by American rock band Wilco. The album was completed in 2001, but Reprise Records, a Warner Music Group label, refused to release it. Wilco acquired the rights to the album when they subsequently left the label. On September 18, 2001, Wilco streamed the entire album for free on their website. Wilco signed with Nonesuch Records another Warner label in November of that year, and the album was officially released on April 23, 2002. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. About Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Considered by many to be Wilcos magnum opus - and an album which seemed like it might never see the light of day. The album was recorded in late 2000 and early 2001 at the bands Chicago studio, The Loft. Upon hearing it, their label, Warner Bros. Reprise Records, asked them to change the album, something the band was unwilling to do. Instead, months later and with the record in tow, Wilco signed to Nonesuch Records - another Warner Bros. After streaming on Wilcos website from September 18th 2001, the final product finally hit selves in April 2002. Unwilling to change the album to make it more commercially viable, the band bought the finished studio tapes from WarnerReprise for 50,000 dollars and left the label altogether. The turmoil surrounding the recording and distribution of the album in no way diminishes the sheer quality of the genre-spanning pop songs written by frontman Jeff Tweedy and his bandmates. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Hotel Foxtrot now arrives in stores, intact, on Nonesuch. Like Reprise, Nonesuch is a subsidiary of AOL Time Warner. Essentially, the mother firm paid for the album twice. Theyre still getting a bargain. One of the most talked-about records of the past year, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was rumored to be crackpot pop - Radioheads Kid A dressed in flannel and cow pie. And there is genuine bedlam here. Creepy pianos and whooping synthesizers zoom in and out of the music like pissed-off ghosts. On April 23rd, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot finally emerges. The miraculous birth narrative of Wilco's fourth album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, is already old hat: banished from straightedge AOL Time Warner imprint Reprise on the cosmically short-sighted judgment of label executives who deemed the album a career-ender, Wilco streamed Yankee Hotel from its left-wing website to millions before signing with weirdo progressive AOL Time Warner imprint Nonesuch. Genre: Alternative Rock. In Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Tweedy, bassist John Stirratt, keyboard-guitar player Leroy Bach and drummer Glenn Kotche actually bring you the enchanting sound of things falling apart - and gingerly, doggedly coming together again. This is an honest, vivid chaos, and it tells a good story. Full Review. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is the fourth album by Chicago-based rock band Wilco. Wilco acquired the rights to the album when they left the label. In September 2001, Wilco streamed the entire album for free on their website. Album 2002 11 Songs. For every nod to the winsome songcraft of Bob Dylan, there's a burst of avant-noise rock or a bloom of psychedelic freakiness. Strings, slide guitar, synths, glockenspiel-the group leaves no sound unturned
