Boureima Vieux Farka Touré 1981 is a Malian singer and guitarist. He is the son of Grammy-winning Malian musician Ali Farka Touré. Touré was born in Niafunké, Mali in 1981 to Ali Farka Touré. Despite his father's discouragement and his family's lineage as a tribe of soldiers, Touré secretly took up the guitar and enrolled in the Institut National des Arts in Bamako, Mali. The renowned guitarist from Mali and, the American singerperformance artist based in Brooklyn have made an album which transcends two very different cultures, and in many ways two opposing genres of music which meet somewhere in a perfect middle. Touristes is a great album, an interesting meeting of two very different styles from two very different backgrounds merging to make something entirely enjoyable. Taking the album title from the meeting of these two people, or maybe an acronym of Toure and Easterlin, its one which will make you sit up and listen.
