Warsaw Autumn Warszawska Jesień is the largest international Polish festival of contemporary music. Indeed, for many years, it was the only festival of its type in Central and Eastern Europe. It was founded in 1956 by two composers, Tadeusz Baird and Kazimierz Serocki, and officially established by the Head Board of the Polish Composers' Union. The symphonic and chamber music shows and other events that include experimental music allow the public to hear both the newer and older works of the composers of our time. Organized by the Association of Polish Composers, the festival is held in various venues in Warsaw: the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Witold Lutoslawski Polish Radio Concert Studio at the University of Music, and at Zacheta, the Centre of Contemporary Art.
