Telarc Classical: Celebrating 25 Years. Operating on instincts and shoestring budgets, their fledgling company, Telarc Records, tapped into the budding revolutionary recording system from Soundstream Inc. Developed by former MIT guru Dr. Thomas Stockham, the Soundstream system digitally captured a substantially cleaner and broader sonic picture than traditional analog recording techniques. Telarc's maiden voyage on the Soundstream system was a recording o. The two-disc set features 25 excerpts from Telarc's Digital Compact Disc Catalog from more than a decade of jazz in the label's 25th anniversary retrospective. In addition to the seasoned vets, some relative newcomers to the label's roster make the cut, including vocalists Tierney Sutton and Kevin Mahogany, along with pianist Benny Green.
