Short intro
Sweet Relief II: Gravity of the Situation is a 1996 charity record that featured a variety of alternative rock bands covering songs written by quadriplegic musician Vic Chesnutt. Some of the artists were picked to give the album an international appeal to raise more funds for the Sweet Relief Fund, which assists musicians in need of health care. The album was a sequel to the 1993 compilation Sweet Relief: A Benefit for Victoria Williams and like the earlier release, proceeds went to the Sweet Relief. On booklet: Track 6 As recorded on MTV Unplugged, February 15, 1995, Brooklyn Academy Of Music. Latin words: Levatio Dulcis: Sweet relief Nil Desperandum: Do not despair. When I Ran Off & Left Her - Soul Asylum. Dodge - Dog's Eye View. This is a great record. Each of the musicians does justice to Vic's music while at the same time expressing their own style. Even though he's not well-known, Vic Chesnutt is highly respected in the music world, which is why musicians like . Madonna, and Live wanted to cover his songs. Kristin Hersh does an absolutely beautiful version of Panic Pure on this record- as good as Vic's, which makes me suspect that she's actually his female counterpart. But as a relative unknown, he should be careful whose company he keeps-at least on disc. Although hes an evocative lyricist, capable of balancing touching pleas Withering with clever wordplay Board games are boring May they rot on the shelf , Chesnutt is not as distinctive a writer as WilliamsRelated to Various - Sweet Relief II: Gravity Of The Situation (The Songs Of Vic Chesnutt)
