These tunes fall into two basic camps: vaguely psychedelicized soul-funk or appropriations of rock tunes, and while they're decent efforts, rarely do they rise above the level of curiosity. As a result, although the concept behind this collection sounds interesting, it comes off as fairly unremarkable. Review by Sean Westergaard.
