Miami Vice is a popular 1980s television series most noted for its use of pop music. Throughout its five season run, the series released multiple albums. In 2002, after extensive pressure from fans of the show, Jan Hammer finally released a more comprehensive collection of the score music he wrote for Miami Vice. While the first disc contained music that had already been released on previous soundtracks namely the three Miami Vice albums and Hammer's own album, Escape From Television, the second CD. Miami Vice II is a 1986 soundtrack album containing music from the television series Miami Vice. It was the second of three soundtrack compilations relating to the show, containing a selection of popular and score music mostly taken from season 3 of the show. Although the album did not enjoy the same level of success as the first Miami Vice soundtrack, the single Crockett's Theme was a huge hit across Europe, reaching 2 in the UK and holding the 1 spot in the Netherlands for four weeks.
