Short intro

The History Of Surf, Vol. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Given Rhino's usual high standards for genre reissues, this overview of surf vocal music was a substantial disappointment, despite the presence of such essential items as the Trashmen's Surfin' Bird and the Tradewinds' New York's a Lonely Town. The Beach Boys cuts are primitive pre-Capitol outings including early versions of Surfin' Safari and Surfer Girl which, while interesting, are not the familiar hit versions. Surf music is a subgenre of rock music associated with surf culture, particularly as found in Southern California. It was especially popular from 1962 to 1964 in two major forms. The first is instrumental surf, distinguished by reverb-drenched electric guitars played to evoke the sound of crashing waves, largely pioneered by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones. The second is vocal surf, which took elements of the original surf sound and added vocal harmonies, a movement led by the Beach Boys. Surf City. Bruce Johnston. Do The Surfer Stomp. The Tradewinds .
