The Fritz the Cat and Heavy Traffic cartoons may not have been great works of cinema, but they did break some ground in the early '70s inasmuch as they were adult-oriented animated features with controversial sexual content. Not much rock & roll, though, on the soundtracks, which combined typical early-'70s instrumental soul-jazz pieces with a few oldies and incidental music. Previously issued as two separate LPs, this CD reissues combines both of them onto one disc. Fritz the Cat Soundtrack. 24 Jan 1972. Complete List of Songs. Fritz the Cat Original Soundtrack Recording RSDBlack Friday Exclusive 2018. The shear variety of songs on this LP make it worth the purchase. I was a fan of Fritz The Cat long before I finally saw the movie on a bad VHS tape in the 1990's. The movie and the songs are the product of the time. From the catchy rhythmic BLACK TALK to the cool DUKE'S THEME to Billie Holiday's YESTERDAYS, a definite pick up from the seasoned, and a great starter for the beginner.
