By Guillaume de Machaut - Deller Consort, Collegium Aureum & Alfred 's Machaut Mass and Perotin's Gradual Sederunt were recorded in 1961 and first published on Vanguard's subsidiary label The Bach Guild, BG 622 mono, BGS 5045 stereo under the title Notre Dame Mass & works of Perotin, together with Perotin's other Gradual Viderunt, recorded the year before. Harmonia Mundi put things right: they were the members of Collegium Aureum, including Franz-Joseph Maier at the fiddle and Hans-Martin Linde at the flute names that amateurs of period-instrument playing will easily recognize. Collegium Aureum was a chamber orchestra founded in Cologne, Germany, in 1962, which later focused on historically informed performance. Playing typically without conductor, they recorded for three decades, and performed concerts on international tours.
