Short intro

Invisible Connections is a 1985 album by Greek electronic composer Vangelis. The track listing of the original 1985 LP and all reissues until 2016 appeared as follows: Invisible Connections 18:30. Atom Blaster 7:50. Thermo Vision 13:19. Although it was quite noticeable that the title track had two distinct parts separated by silence, while the two shorter tracks were extremely similar in style, there was no other indication of any errors in the mastering, pressing, or labeling of the album. This is Vangelis' 1985 vinyl release, Invisible Connections. It's a weird one. Enjoy, and buy the artist's album Композиция. Invisible Connections - the only Vangelis release through the Deutsche Grammaphone - is a foray into dark ambient. The title track consists of percussion and synthesizer sounds washed in reverb in varying degrees that gives a haunting and errie quality. The other two tracks - Atom Blaster and Thermo Vision - use a single synthesizer sound that plays only a few notes at a time and then followed by a moment of silence. Discover all of this album's music connections, watch videos, listen to music, discuss and 'Invisible Connections' presents a real enigma in Vangelis' oeuvre and opinions continue to differ on how to interpret this avant-garde puzzle. It is the only Vangelis non-compilation album ever to be released on classical music label Deutsche Grammophon where at the time of writing it still features, complete with cover, in DG's annual glossy printed catalogue. So based on that evidence this album could be the expression of a rather oblique sense of humour on Vangelis' behalf. Invisible Connections Deutsche Grammophon 1985 is an extremely interesting album. I have been a decades-long Vangelis fan and I am working to gradually study everything he has recorded. My own interest stems from working as a keyboard synthesizer musician on many recording projects. Listening to Invisible Connections is a wonderful experience as it reveals the thinking and doing of Vangelis through the sounds and music one hears. As a synthesizer musician and artist I truly appreciate the work of Vangelis, even one as abstract as this. Listen to this album if you want to learn about synthesizer sound, voicing, and ambience
