But that one seemed particularly momentous. I was a little late wandering into a Shawn Colvin concert and the opening act had already started. His voice and style still shine on this album, but it left me saying 'ehh'. It's not terrible, it's just not his best effort. It, for the most part, just didn't speak to me. Vance Gilbert: American folk singer-songwriter. He started as a jazz singer, switched to folk music, became a regular on the open mike circuit in Boston and toured with Shawn Colvin.
