The disc is not shellac, but it is not an acetate or vinyl record either. It's apparently an early attempt to provide a disc which could be recorded at home. The label states "Use Special Home Recording Needles Only". It's definitely not a studio recording, as the volume is very low and obviously not the work of a professional sound engineer.

Date unknown, but judging from the titles the recording was probably made c.1934.
