Short intro

This is a fake live album created in the studio with overdubbed crowd noises mostly negative abuse provided by fans. The original cover shows Peter Steele's anus, later releases come with a changed artwork. Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, NY is where Type O Negative hail from. Recording information: Recorded at Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, October 31st, 1991. The Origin of the Feces is the second album by Type O Negative, released on May 12, 1992. The liner note said this album was recorded in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn on Halloween of 1991, but it contradicts the fuller title The Origin Of The Feces Not Live At Brighton Beach. The album was actually recorded in Systems Two Recording Studio a few miles from Brighton Beach, but produced to sound as if it had been recorded at a live show by adding crowd noises, banter with the fictitious audience. The second album from Type O Negative, The Origin of the Feces was recorded in a studio but a fake audience track was added to give the illusion of a live album. The cover of the original release had an up close picture of an anus reputed to belong to frontman Peter Steele. Subsequent reissues feature a different cover, a black and green portrait of 1493 painting The Dance of Death. The subsequent 1992 album was entitled The Origin of the Feces and a warning label was put on the album cover: Not Live at Brighton Beach. The album contains faux-live recordings of songs from Slow, Deep and Hard, as well as previously unreleased songs such as Are You Afraid and Hey Pete a cover of Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe with. altered lyrics and Black Sabbath's Paranoid. Bloody Kisses and October Rust 19931998. Type O Negative's third album, Bloody Kisses, was released in 1993 to critical and listener acc. Type O Negative was a gothic, doom metal band formed in Brooklyn, New York, US in 1990. They are well known for their dry, morbid and ironic sense of humor and their often slow and brooding music. The Drab Four the nickname Type O Negative gave themselves always succeeded in keeping their own unique style, mixing melodic, classic rock 'n' roll with slow, doom-like vibes, and down-tuned heavy metal guitar riffs with dark soundscapes. They were also known for doom metal riffs, deep bass lines, heavy but usually slow drums and bass-range vocals of gothic metal. read more. Type O Negative - Kill You Tonight Reprise. Supposedly recorded live at Brighton Beach on Halloween, The Origin of the Feces is actually a poorly played on purpose studio record, featuring overdubbed crowd noises that make it sound as though neither the band nor the audience appreciated each other. Most of this material appeared on their first album as sections of longer songs. One exception is a rewrite of Hey Joe entitled Hey Pete, which makes the narrator into an ax murderer
