Tuneful ringing guitars and tasteful drumming abound to create somewhat of a left-field pop masterpiece. Faintly psychedelic and post-punky not surprising given the lineage here, but excitingly free of power pop and new wave trappings, Trotsky Icepick has really made a singular album. The poignant Just The End Of The World and the strangely aching but upbeat Ivory Tour are just two highlights on an album that contains nothing but high points
