Stage Four is the fourth studio album by American post-hardcore band Touché Amoré. The album was released in the United States and Europe on September 24, 2016 through Epitaph Records. The albums title refers to the fact that it is the band's fourth album as well as singer Jeremy Bolm's mother dying from cancer, which is the central inspiration for most of the album's lyrics. Stage Four is Touche Amores fourth record. The narrative revolves around frontman Jeremy Bolms mothers death at the age of 69. She passed away from cancer while Bolm was onstage in 2014. The title is a double entendre as it is a continued progression in the bands career album four, as well as an allusion to the cancer progression to Stage Four spread to other organs in the body. The record is a radical shift for the bands sound, incorporating more clean singing, guitars and melody than before. Bolm told SPIN its his humble form of catharsis as well as part of getting older.
