The album has never been issued on compact disc but some tracks can be found on the various compilation compact discs. Greatest Hits is a compilation compact disc of songs from British pop rock group The Tourists spanning their entire career. It features twenty songs from their three studio albums as well as the single From The Middle Room and Strange Sky, a non-album b-side. At the time of its release, it was the only album where some Tourists songs could be heard on compact disc and it still is for the songs of their first album The Tourists only released on vinyl and for Strange Sky. They had modest success in the UK and but barely dented the US music audience. The Tourists only released a few albums, the best of which was arguably Reality Effect in 1979. This collection combines the highlights of Reality Effect with some of the band's other best moments. The result is a surprisingly tight collection of quality songs that are representative of what this band was all about.
