Short intro

Garage Flower is an album by English rock band The Stone Roses. The album was recorded in mid-1985 and was produced by Martin Hannett, collecting the band's early songs. The album wasn't released at the time because the band were unhappy with the production and songs. Their self-titled album was the band's proper debut 4 years later. The Garage Flower album was finally released in 1996 by Garage Flower Records. The 1986 demo album Garage Flowers is a shift down from the rest of the Roses' music catalog, but it's still a worthy release and a curiosity for Stone Roses fans. Read more. One person found this helpful. The recordings on Garage Flower predate those on the classic Stone Roses. The music here is not as compelling as that which came later but it is interesting to hear the band honing its sound. Recommended for Stone Roses fans, but initiates will want to start elsewhere. The group's original intention was to release an album with the material, but they were unhappy with the resulting songs and Hannett's production and shelved the sessions a handful of songs were rearranged when drummer Reni joined the group, and rerecorded in different form on the group's 1989 self-titled debut album. The 1985 recordings also included the songs So Young and Tell Me, which formed the Stone Roses' debut single, released. Copyright c Garage Flower Recordings. Published By Zomba Music Publishers Ltd. Success ruined the Stone Roses after their astounding, groundbreaking debut album and a less-popular follow-up. Now, in a musical era where garage rock is a phrase thrown around like frisbees, the title of the Stone Roses' Garage Flowers seems quite appropriate. It's rough, gritty and unfinished, but certainly worth a look for the Roses fan. Starting with the so-so Getting Plenty, it shifts in a blare of horns and drums to the catchy, unhappy Here It Comes Give me your lifeIt's worthless anyhow. Garage Flower was recorded in mid 1985 and was produced by Martin Hannett, collecting the band's early songs. The album wasn't released at the time because the band were not satisfied with the album's production and it's songs. Some regard the production as being of poor quality, particularly with regard to bass. Garage Flower was an album recorded in 1985 by The Stone Roses featuring early demos of beloved tracks such as: I Wanna be Adored and This is the One , as well as a lot more fantastic tunes from the Roses. A very rock-grungy style, which just makes this album very unique to anything theyd done. Garage Flower Q&A
