Short intro
The Spinners made a bid for renewed stardom on a soul independent when they signed with the revived Volt in 1989. Unfortunately, they also found out quickly that being on Volt didn't mean in the late '80s what it meant in the '60s and '70s. Despite a representative effort, with some excellent harmonizing and fine, soulful leads from John Edwards, they couldn't even get a nibble from urban contemporary radio. Spinners is the third studio album recorded by American R&B group The Spinners, produced by Thom Bell and released in April 1973 on the Atlantic label. The album was the group's first for Atlantic after leaving Motown. Spinners includes their first American top-ten and R&B number-one hit I'll Be Around, along with the successful songs Could It Be I'm Falling in Love, One of a Kind Love Affair, Ghetto Child, and How Could I Let You Get Away. The album was also the second of fourteen. Down To Business. The Spinners - Down To Business 1989. To favorites 0 Download album. Listen album. Disco Funk, Soul. The Spinners.
