We just couldn't. There's been a lot of frustration but finally, somebody got behind us with the money and belief in both me and the band. It all happened quite quickly too. Off it went'. Often, the political is personal: on the roaring I Cant Help You, Phillipps grapples with the knowledge that hes done harm to others, working through his feelings as his guitar and a whistling keyboard turn somersaults in the foreground.
