Short intro
Rolled Gold: The Very Best of the Rolling Stones is a compilation album by The Rolling Stones released without the band's authorisation by its former label Decca Records in 1975. It is a double album that reached No. 7 on the UK chart and was a strong seller over the years. All tracks are written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards except where noted. In 2007, the original collection was expanded to 40 songs from the original's 28 tracks. Released in the UK on 12 November 2007, it is an expanded. Designed for the U. market and never released in America, Rolled Gold split the difference between the two, rounding up all the big hits they had on DeccaLondon. Among the myriad Rolling Stones' compilations of similar material, Rolled Gold stands out as a particularly solid collection. It brings together popular Stones' tunes from the bands humble beginnings to the end of the sixties. The band had no say in the packaging of this album and it was only released in the United Kingdom despite that it was a big hit and perennial seller.
