Short intro

Let It Be is the third studio album by American rock band The Replacements. It was released on October 2, 1984 by TwinTone Records. A post-punk album with coming-of-age themes, Let It Be was recorded by the band after they had grown tired of playing loud and fast exclusively as on their 1983 Hootenanny album the group decided to write songs that were, according to vocalist Paul Westerberg, a little more sincere. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей The Replacements. Let It Be' competently captures the rawness and adolescent angst of the early-to-mid '80s indie explosion and repackages it as ferocious, rhythmic punk rock, albeit with some elements of crass humour, furious rock and spartan folk instrumentation to achieve a more distinctive post-punk sound than their transatlantic counterparts. Let It Be looms large among '80s rock albums, generally regarded as one of the greatest records of the decade. So large is its legend and so universal its acclaim that all the praise tends to give the impression that the Replacements' fourth album was designed as a major statement, intended to be something important when its genius, like so many things involving the 'Mats, feels accidental. Album 1984 11 Songs. But The Replacements grew into the most loved rock n roll band in the 80s indie scene-and this third album shows why. Their cover of Kiss Black Diamond is pure rock thunder, but Unsatisfied, Androgynous, Sixteen Blue, and Answering Machine are cries from the heart that established Paul Westerberg as a singer for misfits everywhere. His cracked, pained vocals are beyond compare. Even silly stuff like Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out and Garys Got a Boner rock with heart. Let It Be. The Replacements - Let It Be 1984. Let It Be - четвёртый студийный альбом американской рок-группы The Replacements, выпущенный в октябре 1984 года на лейбе TwinTone Records. Ко времени выхода альбома Hootenanny 1983 года участники группы устали играть исключительно громкую и быструю музыку и решили написать песни, которые были, по словам вокалиста Пола Вестерберга, немного более искренними. Let It Be is the third album by the Replacements. Antagonized by the constraints of the more traditional punk rock theyd been playing on their first two records, the band had been acting out against the punk establishment. They dressed in skirts and flannel and played covers by decidedly non-punk artists like Kiss, T. Rex and Hank Williams. So, with Let It Be, the band decided to rebel against punk and try to form a new sound for themselves. Thus, the album is often described as post-punk , despite being more in tune with the alternative rock scene of the 1980s with bands like . The Replacements last album for TwinTone before signing with Sire, 1984's Let It Be is widely hailed as not just one of the group's career best, but also as an across the boards alt-rock masterpiece. When The Replacements released Let It Be in October of 1984, it suprised many as both a big leap forward for the band and as a record of raw, heartfelt emotion. The Replacements were and always will be the greatest rock band to me. To really understand them is to understand the flaws in every human being. They were not perfect and they were not trying to be perfect. Conceived in the wake of their 1983 tour supporting Hootenanny, the band entertained using . s Peter Buck in the producers role after having toured with them the previous year. Let It Be is my personal favorite Mats album. I became obsessed with it when I was 11 or 12. Its a masterpiece from beginning to end
