Released October 10, 1992. Liar Tracklist. Boilermaker Lizard started up in the early 90's and have released seven albums. I am not a Jesus Lizard expert, I only own this album and there so called best album Goat. Out of the two I can't really choose a favorite. The albums a similar for the most part but Goat is more hard-core and rough. Liar was released in 1992, right in the middle of the grunge era so there are some evident grunge album is psycho, heavy, rough, energetic, aggressive, and paranoid. Raging guitars, heavy drum beats and basslines construct what this album sounds like. Boilermaker, Gladiator, and Puss are a perfect example of what a Jesus Lizard song sound like. Slave Ship. While not unwelcome, this batch of Jesus Lizard reissues come as a surprise. After all, these albums were still available and in print. In terms of needing remastering, the CD wasn't exactly a young or uncharted medium at the time, and the guy recording them, Steve Albini, is generally regarded to know what he's doing behind the boards. Guitarist Duane Denison himself calls the album transitional in the new liner notes, and while he's being a little modest, Head can't help but sound a bit thin compared to what would come afterward. Enter Goat, at a lean and ferocious nine tracks
