Short intro

The Innocence Mission is the eponymous debut studio album by the band of the same name. It was recorded in six months in several studios in Los Angeles, California, including the Kiva, Oceanway Recording, and the Sound Castle. The album cover features the 1894 painting Impromptu Ball by Eva Roos. The album was re-released digitally on May 19, 2009 by A&M Records. Note: All songs written by Karen Peris, unless otherwise indicated. The Innocence Mission are unheralded masters of folk. A collection of songs that wrest beauty and grace out of thin observations that open up an entire universe. See You Tomorrow is a wonderful album for anytime of the year, but especially poignant in winter, when nature sleeps and we all take time some to collectively assess where we are and where we are going in the future. Mark Preising. This Boat is lovely as ever, with guitar, luminous piano and strings enveloping Karen Peris earnest, trembling vocals. the innocence mission. Lancaster, Pennsylvania. SUN ON THE SQUARE The title track may be one of the groups most quietly devastating songs its lyrics speak of resilience and hope, but the addition of each new instrument introduces turbulence and melancholy. Sun on the Square is a fragile, gorgeous record, one that is as carefully plotted as it is deeply affecting. Bandcamp Seven Essential Release.
