Dayton Family is one of the most unapologetically hardcore rap acts I've ever heard they are constantly aggressive and furious, and their subject matter consists almost entirely of drug trade, guns, and the desperation of life in the dirt-poor city of Flint. Their Midwestern mentality lends a pervading gloom over their music, although sometimes it's hard to detect above the in-your-face aggression from Shoestring and Bootleg. FBI is a good album, but I enjoy it best in small doses. The angry verses concerning drugs and crime are entertaining, but at about the halfway poi. The Dayton Family is a hardcore Gangsta Rap group from Flint, Michigan, USA, roughly an hour north of Detroit. Flint is home to some of the most depressed, dangerous ghetto neighborhoods in America. It was from these hopeless streets that the Dayton Family arose, naming themselves after one of the city's most infamous hustling streets, Dayton Avenue.
