The Cure is the eponymous twelfth studio album by English rock band The Cure. The album was released on 29 June 2004 by record label Geffen. The Cure was co-produced by Cure frontman Robert Smith and Ross Robinson, who has previously worked with bands such as Korn, Vanilla Ice, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, At the Drive-In, Glassjaw and The Blood Brothers. This may explain why the songs on the album are significantly heavier than previous material by the band. Robert Smith has described the record as Cure. Curiosa is the name of a 2004 concert tour in the United States and Toronto Canada, organized by Robert Smith of The Cure. It began with a concert in West Palm Beach, Florida on July 24 and ended in Sacramento, California on August 29. The headlining bands were The Cure, Interpol, The Rapture, and Mogwai. The concert had two stages, with the same main-stage line-up for the entire tour, and a rotating set of bands on the second stage four per show. The second stage bands included Muse, Cursive, Thursday, The Cooper Temple Clause, Scarling. Melissa Auf der Maur, and Head Automatica. The Cure is the eponymously-titled twelfth studio album by The Cure released on June 28, 2004 internationally and a day later in the United States. Initial pressings included a bonus DVD Making 'The Cure', which featured video footage of The Cure recording the backing tracks and scratch guide vocals to three of the songs included on the album. In the Summer of 2004, the band launched the Curiosa festival, where they performed shows across the United States with other bands that have been inspired by The Cure, including Mogwai, Interpol and Muse. Open'er festival postponed. In the face of the epidemic situation in Poland and all over the world, in the interest of our common safety, and on the basis of existing administrative decisions of the authorities, we kindly inform that Opener will be held on a new date. The album is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary next year and you can now mark the occasion over the next 12 months with previously unseen photographs of the period compiled by Robert Smith. Later in 1985, the Cure released their sixth album, The Head on the Door. The album was the most concise and pop-oriented record the group had ever released, which helped send it into the U. Top Ten and to number 59 in the U. the first time the band had broken the American Hot 100. Also in 2004, the band released its first album for Geffen, an eponymous effort recorded live in the studio. The new Cure sound was captured live for the album Concert. Andy and Phil left soon after the end of the tour, and were replaced by Boris Williams drums and further returnee Simon Gallup bass. This new incarnation started work on 1985's The Head On The Door album with a very real sense of 'something happening'. In September The Cure quartet headlined Bestival, a unique 150 minute performance filmed and broadcast live in 3D, and released as a charity CD Bestival Live 2011, and in November the band, once again abetted by Lol, played 7 more sold-out Reflections shows - 1 in the Royal Albert Hall, 3 in the Pantages Theatre LA and 3 in the Beacon Theatre. The CureRelated to The Cure - Live In Florida 2004 (The Curiosa Festival)
