Short intro

Язык: Русский. Страна: США. All the Waters is an album of detours and surprises. You'll see the Body mostly referred to as a doom metal duo, but don't hang too many notions on that reductive nail. Two of these seven tracks begin with slow, controlled, Earth-like riffs- that is, quintessential, doom metal. Both evolve quickly. By the time the Body released All the Waters of the Earth Turned to Blood in 2010, the Providence-based duo consisting of guitaristvocalist Chip King and drummer Lee Buford had been around for over a decade, released one full-length and a handful of limited CD-Rs and 7 singles, and toured immensely. They've typically been described as doom or sludge metal due to their brutally slow tempos, churning guitars, and howled vocals, but they've resisted such categories from the beginning with their unconventional samples and covers 2011's Anthology compilation begins with a L. There are multiple artists named The Body: 1 Based in Portland, Oregon, United States, The Body is a two-piece sludge metal band with heavy, low riffs, high-pitched screaming vocals, and occasional samples. The duo was formed in 1999 in Providence, Rhode Island and has released three full-length albums, collaborations with Braveyoung, Thou, Krieg and Full of Hell, an EP, splits with Get Killed, Sandworm and Whitehorse, a demo, and an anthology of their EPs, 7 inches, demos, etc. Learn more. Recent Listening Trend. Going into this album blind was probably not the best of choices. I didnt know whether to expect something sludge based or perhaps something a little folk metal sounding a thought that only occurred because of the album art. What I got was more like a combination of the two, plus a big, helping spoonful of chaos. The Bodys debut is sludge at heart, but it offers much more than the typical crushing rifts, slow tempos, and depressive nature associated with the genre. Not that this album doesnt contain all of those things, but the maturity and experimentation found here is nothing short of i. Writers The Body. More The Body albums. Its hard to pin down a specific genre for what The Body is doing on All The Waters. The monstrous, downtuned guitar sound and chugging riffage probably puts them closest to the doom, sludge genre, although some of the riffing is so glacially paced as to almost lean more towards drone. A touch of black metal influence can be heard in the anguished shrieked vocals, which lend a singularly manic feel to the music. Waters clogged with branch and ash. Atop the crest of an epoch. There, eyes with bitter tears, alone stand I unsatisfied with a lack of proof of your demise. Repayment in kind I demand. A just finality I deserve. Lee Buford: Drums Chip King: Guitars, Vocals. It's tempting to think of it as sampling the same zeitgeist as last year's Sunn O album Monoliths and Dimensions - like that album, All the Waters features a cast of dozens of musicians, giving it a chamber metal texture. But where Monoliths explored idioms from outside of the broad category of metal, with a particular emphasis on blues and jazz, Waters instead chooses to play with an expanded metal vocabulary. After that, the elements of the songs seemed haphazard and incohesive. The idiotic chanting on the third track was particularly annoying and only became bearable when it was drowned out
