The song was released shortly after Ellis had released The Name Game. The song returned to the charts in 1982, when the Belle Stars' version charted at number 11 in the UK. This version did not chart in the US, although a version by Pia Zadora charted there at number 36 in 1983. Aaron Carter released a cover of the song on his 2000 album Aaron's Party Come Get It.
