Short intro
The Beatles 1 Video Collection is Out Now. At Twickenham Film Studios, a little over three weeks after the single was recorded, The Beatles made three separate promo films for 'We Can Work It Out'. We Can Work It Out is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. It was first issued as a double A-side single with Day Tripper in December 1965. The release marked the first time in Britain that both tracks on an artist's single were promoted as joint A-sides. The song was recorded during the sessions for the band's Rubber Soul album. The single was number 1 in Britain where it won the Ivor Novello Award for the top-selling A-side of 1965, America. We Can Work It Out - Re Beatles. Think of what I'm saying, We can work it out and get it straight, or say goodnight. We can work it out. Life is very short, and there's no time, For fussing and fighting, my friend, I have always thought that it's a crime, So I will ask you once again. Try to see it my way, Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong, While you see your way, There's a chance that we may fall apart before too long. We Can Work It Out The Beatles 1962-1966. The basic track of We Can Work It Out was laid down on 20 October 1965, while The Beatles were recording Rubber Soul. In a four-hour session they rehearsed and then recorded just two takes of the rhythm track. They then spent nearly five further hours overdubbing instruments, including John Lennons distinctive harmonium in the verses. Yesterday and Today was my first Beatles Album. I loved it I got it in about 1967 when I was six. Lennon and McCartney had some of the best vocal harmonys in R&R. Their harmony in the chorus of We Can Work it Out is my personal favorite. Johns voice in that song was perfect. We Can Work It Out is a song written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and released by The Beatles as a double A-sided single with Day Tripper, the first time both sides of a single were so designated in an initial release. McCartney wrote the words and music to the verses and the chorus, with lyrics that might have been personal, probably a reference to his relationship with Jane Asher. McCartney then took the song to Lennon. The Beatles recorded this specifically for release as a single at two quick sessions while they were making the Rubber Soul album in October 1965. When it was released as a single backed with Day Tripper, debate raged over which was the A-side. Most pop groups put B-sides on their singles that were far inferior, but The Beatles often came out with 45s containing two great songs. They did three different version of We Can Work It Out, all with John Lennon at the organ. Stevie Wonder covered this on his 1970 album Signed, Sealed and Delivered. While The Beatles were recording their late 1965 masterpiece album Rubber Soul, the usual concern was which song would be left off of the album and released as their next single. Three days into recording the album, the Lennon, McCartney rocker Day Tripper was recorded which was earmarked as their next million-selling hit song. The issue appeared to be settled and they went on with recording the rest of the album. November 10th, 1965 was the date for the first stereo mixing of We Can Work It Out, which was done in Room 65 of EMI Studios by Martin, Smith and Jerry Boys.
