Looking closer at the sombrero-topped hombres in the picture, do you notice any familiar faces behind the mostly fake moustaches Well, Julius is fourth from the left, and his wife Cissy is is the first song ever recorded by the 60's group Baja Marimba Band, led by marimba virtuoso Julius Wechter. This group is sort of a spinoff of Baja Marimba Band was a musical group led by marimba player Julius Wechter. Formed by producer Herb Alpert after his own Tijuana Brass, the Baja Marimba Band outlasted the Tijuana Brass by several years in part due to TV producer Chuck Barris, who included the group's music on his game shows in the 1970s. During his youth, Julius Wechter took up several percussion instruments including the vibes and marimba. In 1956 his group the Julius Wechter Quartet released a jazz album entitled Linear Sketches.
