The best LP release by The Apostles in my opinion, took me a few listens to realise it though, but stuck with it, for some reason and I'm glad I did. I find it fascinating how Andy Martian and Dave Fanning manage to capture a sound so reminiscent of their lives during the 1980's London, anarcho-punk scene without having much instrument knowledge at the time. This album features truly superior versions of the some of the best songs from earlier demo's and ep's, a wonderful flowing collection of heavy anarcho-punk fused flawlessly with blues, prog rock, English folk and gospe. The Apostles are an English experimental punk rock band who developed within the confines of the 1980s anarcho-punk scene in the UK, but did not necessarily adhere to the aesthetics of that movement. The Apostles were formed in the Islington area of London in 1979 by William 'Bill' Corbett vocals, Julian Portinari bass, Dan McIntyre drums and Pete Byng-Hall guitar.
