Short intro

Everybody Loves a Happy Ending is the sixth and most recent studio album by the British pop-rock band Tears for Fears, released on 14 September 2004 in the US, and 7 March 2005 in the UK and Europe. It was released some nine years after the previous Tears for Fears studio album, Raoul and the Kings of Spain 1995, and was the first album featuring Curt Smith since 1989's The Seeds of Love. Orzabal released two records under the Tears for Fears moniker in the mid-'90s, but the band's signature blend of hook-filled anthems and art pop excess seemed destined to reside eternally in the post-new wave graveyard of the '80s. Then came the film Donnie Darko, a left-field cult hit that featured California singersongwriter Gary Jules' chart-topping in the U. anyway rendition of the band's 1983 hit, Mad World. Taken from the album Everybody Loves a Happy Ending 2004 Roland Orzabal - vocals, guitar, keyboards Curt Smith - bass, backing vocals Charlton Loves a Happy Ending is the reunion album for Tears for Fears' original lineup of duo Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, and the sixth Tears for Fears album overall. Orzabal and Smith had a bitter split in 1991, after releasing the album The Seeds of Love. The album had four singles, Closest Thing to Heaven, Everybody Loves a Happy EndingCall Me Mellow two songs, released as a double A-side single, and Secret World France only. Among the benefits of picking up the new Tears for Fears album-the band's first since 1989-maybe the least obvious is looking cool in front of friends. Flick it on over cocktails, say, and brows will furrow: Few would think to match the heaving, synth-heavy boys who lit up the '80s with Head Over Heels to this new material.
