Wisely enough, they concentrated on up- and mid-tempo songs for this, the last one - wisely, because in their slick instrumental ballads, Stuff was often dangerously close to playing background music they actually never ran totally clear of that risk. But on the whole, the instrumental funk found on this album has more in common with the first studio album than with later gospel- and soul-influenced releases. The main reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me is that on the live set there are quite a few fade-outs and then dubbed in audience applause. I'm assumming this was a time problem, but personally I'd have rather had fewer tracks that were complete. However, thats a minor quibble, this is fine representation of a great band.
